From our Facebook page:
Br. Phap Khong- Diep Nguyen,
one of the monastic brothers from Blue Cliff monastery, posted this
personal, recent experience: "It is an interesting article, but only
from an outsider point of view with limited information. There are many
things that I can mention as we work together as a sangha with
designated spokesperson .
For 7 days , I was room mating with
one of the main attendants and I have a lot of gratitude for their
dedication to be around our teacher. He is doing well, is very sharp,
lucid and makes him own mind about everything. We did have a lot of
monastics taking turns to go to the root temple to see our teacher. So
we have to take shifts of 3 to 6 to see our teacher while allow him to
rest. Lay friends are not allowed to see our teacher (except special
circumstances).
Whenever the weather is sunny, our teacher
loves to go for a walk and visit the grounds of the monastery. During
the time of my stay of 7 days, our teacher went at least for a walk
(ride) 3 days, there was some days that I went out sightseeing.
So
I advice our lay friends to stay in a house near Chùa Từ hieu. Come to
the temple and talk to us, visit the stupas, specially during sunny
days. At least, we can meet our teacher at each mindful breath, mindful
steps."
